Blues is a vocal and instrumental musical form originally derived from African American work songs. A form of American roots music, blues has been a major influence on American popular music, finding expression in jazz, big bands, rhythm and blues, rock and roll and country music as well as conventional pop songs and even modern classical music. Pat Klipp began her singing career early in childhood through by Gospel music. Influenced by Dinah Washington and Billie Holiday, Pat began to sing Blues and Jazz music. Her first experiences as a singer were in the clubs of New York city. While attending New York City College as an Art and Advertisement student she also studied music at the Cyprus Hills Music School for Performing Artist. Later Pat worked as Fashion Co-ordinator and private assistant to Halston at the world famous “Halston Fashion house” in New York and worked as a singer on weekends in different jazz clubs in New York.
Heading for Europe in 1984 in Frankfurt she quickly established herself and gained popularity as a Blues and Gospel singer. By the early 90´s Pat was touring extensively throughout Germany and Europe. Attraction in the Rhein-Main area, she has enjoyed great success with such bands as Barrelhouse Jazz Band, The Jackson Singers and the Weather Girls. She has toured with Albie Donnelly, Gene Mighty Flea Connor as well as the famous Clara Ward Singers.

Pat can also be seen in the movie Le Nouveau Monde (The New World) starring AliciaSilverstoneand JamesGandolfini.
Pat has performed at many important Festivals and Open Air concerts in Germany and Europe such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Jazz Fest Dresden, Koepernicker Blues and Jazz Festival, Open Air Sommer auf den Berg, Jablonex Jazzfest prag, Jazzfest Finland, Paris, Japan, St. Louis Blues Festival, Bayerische Hof, Koepernicker Blues, and Jazz Festival, with Maxine Waldon. The Jazzov´s Festival in Jablonex with Chris Barber, Lehrte Blues Festival, Worms Blues Festival with the Steamboat Stompers and Tribute to Bob Dylan in Mehrbusch, Festival Heidenheim with Emil Mangelsdorf and many more. Her beauty, strong emotional voice and stage appearance gives new meaning to classic songs.
Pat tours successfully with her group PatKlipp and the AMERICAN GOSPEL TRAIN with concerts in Prague, and throughout Europe, with all concerts being sold out. Pat Klipp is one of the most sought after singer for Blues, R&B, Gospel, and Jazz throughout Europe and Germany. She has her own style and captivates her audiences with Amour.
After a successful year in 1996 and a new hit single (I´m a Believer) with Metronome Records, Pat stepped in after the lead singer from the famous group, The Clara Ward Singers fell ill and couldn’t continue the tour. Pat was asked to join them on the tour. After Pat’s success as a singer with the group she became leader of the European Clara Ward Singers for the next four years. Since the 90s Pat Klipp has performed on many Festivals and concerts throughout Germany and Europe. She has performed as lead singer for the Gospel Group the “Jackson Singers”, and performed with such greats as Katie Webster, Luther Vandross, Kool and the Gang.
PATs Worldwide Tour 2005-2007 Proved to be very exciting for Pat Klipp with concerts booked throughout Europe, USA , Japan, Turkey and Portugal. Festivals such as the Blues Festivals Ginza and Shanan Hiratsuka Tokyo Japan, Tanabata Festival, Ginga Japan, Festival Rhythme er Cavennes, Cazorla Blues Festival Portugal, International Jazz-Music Festival Istanbul Turkey and in New York U.S.A. with the famous Gospel group, The Blind Boys of Mississippi. |
